The decorations, props, and activities created an exciting atmosphere that drew families in and made reading feel truly heroic. Students walked in wide-eyed, pointing at the capes, masks, and banners — you could see the energy in the room shift as they realized this was going to be a special event all about them becoming \"reading superheroes.\"\r\n\r\nSince Literacy Night, we've continued using the donated resources in our classroom. For example, during our guided reading block, students now wear \"comprehension capes\" when they share how they solved tricky vocabulary words or explained a main idea. In writing, we use \"power-up\" cards to encourage students to add stronger details and vocabulary to their stories. One memorable moment came when a reluctant reader proudly grabbed a superhero mask, stood tall, and read a passage fluently for the first time in front of his peers — earning cheers from the entire class.\r\n\r\nOur next steps include creating a \"Superhero Reading Wall,\" where students post their reading goals and track their progress, and hosting smaller classroom \"hero challenges\" to build on the excitement from Literacy Night. Thanks to these materials, literacy isn't just something students work on quietly — it feels fun, empowering, and worth celebrating every day.","fullyFundedDate":1746786934513,"projectUrl":"project/reading-heroes-unleash-the-power-of-boo/9110090/","projectTitle":"Reading Heroes: Unleash the Power of Books!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Nelson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1020875_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1568815393453","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1020875"},{"teacherId":8701032,"projectId":9152361,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contributions to our music classroom.
