Your generosity helps ensure that my students have access to quick, nutritious snacks throughout the school day. For many of my students, school provides not only learning opportunities but also stability, structure, and nourishment. Because of your donations, we can keep individually packaged, student-friendly snacks on hand to help students stay focused, regulated, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThese snacks will allow me to support students who arrive without breakfast, provide positive reinforcement during instruction, and help students regulate when they are struggling with attention or behavior. Most importantly, your kindness helps create a classroom environment where every child feels cared for, supported, and ready to succeed.\r\n\r\nThank you for making a meaningful difference in the lives of my students! 💛","fullyFundedDate":1773269901476,"projectUrl":"project/healthy-easy-to-access-snacks-for-stude/10128873/","projectTitle":"Healthy, Easy-to-Access Snacks for Student Success","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Jordan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1027245_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541570618379","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1027245"},{"teacherId":1027245,"projectId":10118811,"letterContent":"We are incredibly thankful for the donation that helped bring our new playground communication board to life. What is most exciting about this project is that it gives our students access to language in a place where communication is often the most important—during play. Many of our students have limited verbal communication, and recess can sometimes be a challenging time for them. With this outdoor communication board, students now have a visual way to express words like *play, help, stop, more,* and *friend* while they interact with others on the playground.\r\n\r\nThis new addition is already making a difference. Students are beginning to point to words on the board to ask for turns, request help, and communicate with their peers. It bridges the gap between the communication skills they practice in the classroom and real-life social situations outside. It also helps other students learn how to include and interact with classmates who communicate differently.\r\n\r\nSeeing students gain confidence and find their voice during recess has been incredibly meaningful for our classroom. Because of your generosity, our playground is becoming a place where every child can communicate, connect, and truly feel included. Thank you for helping make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1772146823897,"projectUrl":"project/giving-every-child-a-voice-on-the-playgr/10118811/","projectTitle":"Giving Every Child a Voice on the Playground","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Jordan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1027245_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541570618379","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1027245"},{"teacherId":1027245,"projectId":10122825,"letterContent":"We are incredibly grateful for the generous donation of our laminator, adaptive toys, flexible seating, and classroom materials. The laminator allows us to create durable visual schedules, communication boards, and hands-on learning materials that my students can use every day. In a classroom where many students are non-verbal or have significant developmental delays, these visual supports are essential for helping them understand routines, make choices, and participate more independently in learning activities.\r\n\r\nThe new materials have already brought so much excitement to our classroom. The switch-adapted toys are especially exciting because they allow students with limited motor skills to control a toy independently by pressing a button. Watching a student press a switch and immediately see a toy respond is a powerful learning moment—it teaches cause and effect and builds confidence. The bubble machine has also been a huge motivator, encouraging students to communicate, reach, and engage socially with their peers and teachers.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with these new tools. One student who rarely initiates interaction has begun pressing the switch repeatedly to activate the toy, smiling each time it responds. Another student has started using the visual materials we laminated to make choices between activities for the first time. Moments like these are huge milestones for our learners, and they would not be possible without your generosity. Thank you for helping create meaningful learning experiences for our students every day.","fullyFundedDate":1772415007649,"projectUrl":"project/extra-supplies-needed-for-a-severe-and-p/10122825/","projectTitle":"Extra Supplies Needed for a Severe and Profound Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Jordan","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1027245_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541570618379","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1027245"},{"teacherId":9058638,"projectId":9542111,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for providing our students with their \"BEAR\" Necessities! Your generosity has brought joy, relief, and reassurance into our classroom, and I cannot thank you enough for investing in my students. Because of you, my classroom is now equipped with essential items that support students' confidence, self-esteem, and overall well-being—helping them feel prepared and comfortable so they can focus on learning.\r\n\r\nPrior to the materials arriving at our school, I had already begun purchasing small necessities for students I knew needed extra support. As more students began spending time in my classroom—or hearing from peers and other teachers that \"Ms. Allen can help you\"—the number of knocks on my door grew tremendously. With each visit came more trusting faces and quiet moments of vulnerability, as students realized my classroom was a safe space where their needs would be met with care and respect.\r\n\r\nI remember one of the first days after our shipment arrived, when I was called down to the office almost immediately after students began entering the building. When I arrived, I was met by the school counselor and a student who was in tears because she hated her hair. As she tugged her hoodie down over her head, I knew exactly what needed to be done. With the help of another special education teacher, we gently combed her hair into pigtails and sent her back to class with renewed confidence that carried her through the rest of the day.\r\n\r\nThe same is true when students come to me after a very eventful day in P.E. and suddenly realize they forgot to put on deodorant—often after hearing whispers from peers or being called out directly. Providing them access to a private restroom where they can wash off, apply deodorant, and add a few sprays of body mist makes a world of difference, allowing them to return to class feeling comfortable, confident, and ready to finish the day strong.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, these materials will continue to play an important role in our classroom. Since receiving this donation, we have also been blessed with additional support from fellow teachers and even a local high school that has volunteered to help provide more supplies. Your generosity sparked a ripple effect of giving that we are forever grateful for. Thank you again for taking the time to invest in our Rigdon Road Bears and for ensuring our students have their \"BEAR\" Necessities—providing comfort, confidence, and care during moments when they need it most. Because of you, our Bears are able to walk into their classrooms feeling supported, valued, and ready to take on the day.","fullyFundedDate":1759174059341,"projectUrl":"project/confidence-starts-here-supporting-rres/9542111/","projectTitle":"Confidence Starts Here: Supporting RRES with Hygiene Essentials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Allen","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9058638_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1685123333823","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sped-edventures"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_50260","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":437,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":80,"percentWhite":3,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":8,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":50260,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Rigdon Road Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Rigdon Road Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/muscogee-county-school-district/rigdon-road-elementary-school/50260"}
