As they planned their lessons for the Eagle Preschool, they immediately saw how the calming tools, fidget toys, and organization materials could help both them and their preschoolers have a smoother learning experience.\r\n\r\nThe use of the Calm Ball and Fidget Friends helps preschoolers and highschoolers recognize and manage their feelings. It's amazing to see my high schoolers modeling patience and empathy while teaching our youngest learners how to take deep breaths and use calm-down tools appropriately.\r\n\r\nThe snacks and storage bins also make a huge difference. We use the snacks as brain breaks and incentives during planning sessions, and the bins help keep each group's lesson materials neatly organized for preschool time. The tripod has been a great addition for recording lessons so students can review and reflect on their teaching methods an important part of their career preparation in Early Childhood Education.\r\n\r\nOur next step is for students to collaborate with the Chevron Fab Lab Outreach Program and GA AIM on creative STEM-based preschool lessons that incorporate emotional regulation and hands-on exploration.
