I teach 150 students over six classes each day. Your contributions enabled me to bring more engagement in the classroom. Using the mini white boards, my students can show understanding and respond interactively to class questions. The class set of clip boards allows us to take class to different areas of campus. This type of flexibility is crucial to helping students stay engaged in the lesson.\r\n\r\nWith the distraction of technology, we cannot allow students to use their own wireless headphones in the classroom. The class set of wired headphones allows me to use video instruction when needed, while limiting other temptations that might drive them away from the educational content. \r\n\r\nThese things along with all of the other supplies equip me to do my job without me having to pay out of pocket for much needed supplies such as highlighters, markers pencils, and tissues.","fullyFundedDate":1771653488870,"projectUrl":"project/engaged-ela/9859560/","projectTitle":"Engaged ELA","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Sheran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10332977_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1768739849565","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10332977"},{"teacherId":9730770,"projectId":9720607,"letterContent":"I don't know if you realize this, but high school students are always hungry...not just occasionally, but constantly. And that hunger isn't always about food insecurity. Sometimes it comes from boredom, sadness, excitement, or even the crash after medication wears off long past lunchtime. In those moments, a simple snack becomes more than just food; it becomes a small but meaningful act of care. It says, \"I see you, and I'm here for you.\" Thank you for giving me the opportunity to meet that need for my students.\r\n\r\nWe were also able to create meaningful anchor charts that I didn't have to erase while teaching Shakespeare, exploring the complex characters in both Romeo and Juliet and Macbeth. I've learned that some students express themselves more clearly through art, and having access to materials like flesh-colored pencils has been incredibly important for them. In fact, I had a student who had never even seen them before, which really put into perspective how impactful these resources can be.\r\n\r\nAlthough we had already completed our unit on crime scene materials, I was able to involve a small group of students by showing them the supplies and inviting their input on how to best use them in the future. That experience was both fun and valuable. Hearing directly from students provides insights that are far more meaningful than following prewritten lesson plans.\r\n\r\nThe most helpful items, however, were the tissues and air freshener. Allergy season hit us hard, and I was able to set up two tissue stations with hand sanitizer to keep everyone comfortable and clean. It was also a simple joy to hear students, and even visitors, comment on how pleasant the classroom smelled. Small touches truly make a big difference, and my gratitude for your willingness to be long lasting!","fullyFundedDate":1768605847902,"projectUrl":"project/steam-snacks-and-other-essential-stuff/9720607/","projectTitle":"STEAM, Snacks and Other Essential Stuff","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Russell","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9730770_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1739029267215","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/kruss"},{"teacherId":2340003,"projectId":9356220,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to purchase our violin cases for this years' Beginning Violin class. This is a class I created at UGHS and is very special to me. These students are frequently young people who dropped out of other arts paths or missed the chance to join orchestra at their school due to a lack of their interest at the time or the school's available programming. Many of these students will go on to play violin for the rest of high school, and hopefully into their adult life.\r\n By improving our violin cases, you've done a lot to speed up their education. The instruments being more well protected means students feel more confident taking them home to practice. They look nicer, which adds a sense of ownership and pride in their chosen activity. Knowing they have support beyond our walls also demonstrates the importance of music and the arts in their life.\r\n Thank you again, and I hope you consider supporting future arts-related projects on this website and elsewhere!","fullyFundedDate":1751748410389,"projectUrl":"project/upgrade-our-beginner-violin-cases/9356220/","projectTitle":"Upgrade Our Beginner Violin Cases!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2340003_orig.jpg?crop=1003,1003,x484,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1636737831123","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/mrwrightsorchestra"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69466","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1622,"numTeachers":92,"percentFrplEligible":71,"percentAsian":6,"percentBlack":52,"percentWhite":24,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":59.4,"schoolId":69466,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Union Grove High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Union Grove High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/henry-county-schools/union-grove-high-school/69466"}
