The sensory stickers you provided are helping students focus while reading and writing. They also offer a silent way to fidget during testing sessions. They are a uniquely non-disruptive tool that fits seamlessly into the classroom. The colorful and metallic pens and markers have already helped me create this year's Achievement Board. This is a space used to highlight increasing scores and student's use of new vocabulary words.\r\n\r\nI want to emphasize that the supplies you provided will be utilized well beyond me writing this thank you note. Hands-on learning and problem-solving tasks allow students to test out different solutions and learn how trial and error can produce innovation. When I think about the problems we have in education today, and the need to develop our future workforce, I think about how much flexible thinking and perseverance are necessary for success. Overcoming challenges and lateral thinking are skills that can be taught and refined; that is what these supplies helped my students learn.\r\n\r\nStudents began working on projects at the end of the school year; they were focused on solving real-world problems through modeling, testing, adapting, analyzing, and then writing about their work. Because I received your donation before the beginning of the 26-27 school year, I was able to start my year off with team-building assignments. The part that made my teacher's heart proudest was how many possible solutions students generated and how the most reluctant learners became actively engaged with higher-level thinking. Some teams had clear leaders who acted like communication hubs, others worked like real-world business partnerships well beyond their grade. I provided general safety guidelines and then let the kids test their ideas. Quiet students became leaders as they developed innovative ideas.
