It has truly made such a wonderful difference in our reading area and in our students' enthusiasm for books!\r\n\r\nAs soon as the bench arrived, the students were so excited. They immediately began taking turns sitting on it with their favorite books, and it quickly became the most popular spot in the room. It's amazing how something as simple as a cozy, inviting place to sit can motivate students to read more and stay engaged longer. I've noticed that even some of my reluctant readers are now choosing to spend their independent reading time on the bench, sharing stories and reading together.\r\n\r\nThe bench has become our \"reading spotlight\" — a special place where students sit to read aloud to the class or partner up to discuss what they've read. It's added a sense of pride and excitement to our lessons, and it's helping to build both confidence and a love of reading.\r\n\r\nYour support has brought so much joy and comfort to our classroom. The Kleenex, disinfecting wipes, and candy may seem like simple items, but they've made such a big difference in our daily routine. The tissues and wipes help us keep our classroom clean and healthy—something that's so important in a busy, active learning environment. The candy has become a fun motivator and reward that helps keep spirits high and encourages positive behavior and participation.\r\n\r\nI'll never forget the smiles on my students' faces when they saw the boxes being opened. They were so excited and couldn't believe that people they've never met cared enough to give to their classroom. For many of my students, who come from low-income households, small gestures like this mean so much—they feel seen, valued, and supported.\r\n\r\nRight now, we're working on building strong classroom routines and positive relationships as we dive into reading and math goals for the year. Having these supplies helps us focus more on learning and less on the little challenges that can distract from it. Your kindness has created a cleaner, more comfortable, and more encouraging space for my students to grow in.\r\n\r\nFrom all of us—thank you for believing in our classroom and for helping us start the school year strong!","fullyFundedDate":1758636627670,"projectUrl":"project/from-candy-to-kleenex-every-bit-helps/9512362/","projectTitle":"From Candy to Kleenex – Every Bit Helps!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Garcia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7908303_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761524991636","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7908303"},{"teacherId":9174605,"projectId":8996134,"letterContent":"My scholars and I are elated with your generous donations to our class!! My students love to read and truly enjoy learning, especially when we are able to incorporate manipulatives and flexible workspaces. Your donations have allowed my students to practice skills using hands-on materials, bringing their learning to life and making it tangible. \r\n\r\nThe fraction cubes have helped my students have a visual of equivalent fractions, building a strong foundational concept of the skill. My students use the whiteboards to work out math problems while working independently or in small groups, and be more interactive by writing and displaying their answers to whole group discussions and questions. The clipboards have allowed my students to work on group activities such as book clubs while sitting on blankets around the room. They also love being able to move around the room with their clipboards working on scavenger hunts or while working in the \"outdoor\" classroom. The headphones have allowed me to use more mixed media options for presenting lessons and assigning independent work to better prepare students for the upcoming changes to our state assessment.
