This carpet will make up our classroom meeting place. It will sit in front of my calendar board where my students sit criss-cross applesauce on the floor several times during the day. The carpet will help the students have their own special spot in our meeting place. This will help build trust and ownership amongst students that may not receive this at home. It will also be used during our story time, writer's workshop and various other discussion times during the day. This carpet will help them focus on their learning instead of their constant discomfort in the meeting place.
