I used these materials immediately for the children. The industrial strength velcro was used to hang up wall fidget puzzles in the sensory room. It was also used to hang a mat on a classroom wall. This mat will protect a child if they become frustrated and bump their head on the wall. The velcro strips were used to hang up the posters to describe the activities that the staff and children can participate in while in the sensory room. The sensory room provides calming activities for our children so that they can go back to the classroom ready to focus and learn. I am using the gell and stone fidgets in my treatment sessions and also in adapted art class. These items are helping my students fidget with their hands so they can be ready for the fine motor tasks. The kids have also been using the washcloths to clean up during adapted art class. Cleaning with the washcloths has also helped them relax while their bodies are doing the heavy work of cleaning.\r\nThe velcro has given me the ability to adapt the seating for children. I have placed velcro on wiggle cushions to chairs so that they will stick to their chairs. Then they can get some movement while they sit and participate at their desks.
