I will use the dice pack, whiteboard pockets, magnetic ten frames, and number lines to differentiate for my diverse learner during my match center time. The wide variety of dice will allow me to reach ALL of my learners - some will start with 6-sided dice, while others might try the 12-sided dice.
Whiteboard pockets will be used in centers to save paper and allow the students an engaging way to complete their center work. Magnetic ten frames are a hands on way to teach the concept of "making ten", which is something we focus a lot on in first grade. Number lines can be used by students to help them visualize a number or a problem more easily - they will grab a number line whenever they need it during math center time.
The student mailboxes will be used to organize any papers that need to go home at the end of the day. It will save LOTS of time - instead of passing out papers at dismissal (which makes for a very hectic time right before the bell rings), students will simply put the papers in their mailbox into their binders to go home. This will also prevent students from losing important forms/papers/makeup work because they will know exactly where to find it.
Lastly, the wall organizer will be used to store work for my Early Finishers and center work. Students who finish their work early will know exactly where to find the Challenge problem of the day or more practice with the concept of that week.
