For example, the rings are used during movement activity in math. The students hop through them while counting by 5s and 10s. The building blocks help them work together as a group and learn peer sharing. I was able to utilize some of the equipment within the first couple of days of getting it. I have a few students in wheelchairs, but one particular student loves to lay on the mat. Without receiving the mat from donor's choose, he wouldn't be able to lay on the floor and interact with his peers.\r\n\r\nMy students were excited to play with the scooters. I plan on utilizing the scooters in more activities since all my students are able to use them now. I am very thankful that you guys helped with providing more resources for my students. When students are disregulated they particularly like the breathing exercises and the beanbags. \r\n\r\nWhen trying to keep them engaged and seated the fidget spinners, sensory tubes, stress toys and magnetic tiles keep them in their seat during whole group exercise. The mini dinosaurs, jungle animals and treasure box prize helps students participate and complete assignments.\r\n\r\nWhen I presented the materials, the students were excited and had an immediate interest in learning how they would be able to use them. I have two students that struggle to engage in group activities. Those students immediately showed more willingness to participate. The students received a book shelf, throws, and small pillow cases for throw pillows. The students will come into the room every morning, and after putting up their jackets, and book bags, they will run to the reading corner, grab a book and a throw blanket and read books, and look at the pictures. We get books from our principal and books that we want to read to your students and they enjoy sitting in the reading corner on bean bags with their friends. \r\nWhen the students first saw the new reading area, they were screaming with excitement. And it has been like that ever since! The come into the room after every transition and go straight to the reading area. \r\nI have not come up with anymore projects for my classroom. Although I am open to ideas about how to expand reading for my students. I am currently working on phonic sounds and sights words with my students, this is a special education class with multiple grades, ages, and skill levels.
