Having these new books and supplies has made a real difference in our classroom and has given my students more opportunities to read, talk, and learn together.\r\n\r\nReading in my classroom is pretty active. We read together, stop to make predictions, ask questions, talk about characters, and make connections to our own lives. The new books have given us more opportunities to talk about topics like family, culture, identity, empathy, and seeing things from someone else's perspective.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite things has been seeing students get excited about the books. Some students who don't always choose to read on their own are quick to join us when I introduce a new read-aloud. They love looking at the pictures, making predictions, and sharing their thoughts about what is happening in the story. We also have students who are excited to find books that remind them of their own families, cultures, or experiences.\r\n\r\nThank you for helping me build a classroom where my students have books they are excited to pick up and read.
