My students are using the table daily for collaborative learning activities, small group instruction, and independent practice. One of my favorite moments so far was during a math review activity where students gathered around the table to solve problems together and explain their thinking to one another. It created such a positive and engaging learning environment, and even some of my quieter students became more involved in discussions because they felt comfortable working together in that space.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new table, they were beyond excited. They immediately started asking if they could work there and were eager to sit together and collaborate. Many of them commented on how comfortable and inviting the classroom felt with the new addition. The table has made our classroom feel more flexible, welcoming, and student-centered, which has had a huge impact on participation and engagement.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for our students include continuing to use the floor table during collaborative math stations, review games, and project-based learning activities. We are currently working on lessons that require students to communicate their reasoning and problem-solving strategies, and the table has become the perfect place for those discussions to happen naturally. We are so thankful for the generosity of our donors and the opportunity to create a classroom environment where students feel excited to learn every day.","fullyFundedDate":1714861428568,"projectUrl":"project/class-floor-table/8349328/","projectTitle":"Class Floor Table","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Taylor","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9445646_orig.jpg?crop=2229,2229,x0,y200&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1779129515515","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9445646"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49228","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":572,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":70,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":28,"percentWhite":60,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":3,"gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":68.4,"schoolId":49228,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Emanuel County Institute on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Emanuel County Institute","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/emanuel-county-schools/emanuel-county-institute/49228"}
