They learned that some materials will allow too much, too little or just the right amount of light in a room, that affects the temperature which impacts how comfortable that area can be and determines whether or not it is livable. Students were able to use critical thinking in choosing the materials, justifying their choice, experiment with different materials and create their desired doghouse. After creating the house, students placed them outside in the sun with a thermometer inside for a few hours to see if the temperature inside would be safe for a pet. We discussed their findings as they presented to the class in groups. The following week, the students whose doghouse won the debate was presented to the Animal Shelter. They brought in a dog for students to pet. They were able to ask questions about living conditions for different animals and how temperature affects them. Learning was extended beyond the classroom. We appreciate your help and look forward to partnering with you again.","fullyFundedDate":1741435143683,"projectUrl":"project/making-doghouse-to-keep-puppy-cool-in-th/9110899/","projectTitle":"Making Doghouse to Keep Puppy Cool in the Summer","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Charles","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9922234"},{"teacherId":9888792,"projectId":9035716,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donations to my project. We use the headphones everyday in my classroom, and it has made such an impact on the students' quality of learning. We also use our stools everyday in small groups. This has allowed seating for my small group table, which has benefited my classroom greatly. All of my students were very excited when the new headphones and stools arrived. They enjoyed being able to use them since day one. Again, thank you so much for the donations. Your support has made a significant impact on our ability to provide valuable emotional and psychological resources for our students, fostering their growth and well-being.\r\nThe materials you donated, including social-emotional learning books, anger management tools, and social-emotional games are already making a tangible difference. I have used the books and games to facilitate important discussions around emotional intelligence, self-regulation, conflict resolution, and diversity. Students are becoming more confident in expressing their feelings and learning strategies to manage stress and frustration.\r\nThe Play-Doh, in particular, has proven to be extremely effective for students who benefit from hands-on activities. These resources allow children to express emotions creatively, providing them with an outlet when words are difficult to find. Furthermore, the hygiene materials have contributed to building healthy habits, ensuring that all of our students have access to the basic resources needed for their overall well-being.\r\nThanks to your generosity, our school is better equipped to meet the diverse emotional and developmental needs of our students. These materials not only enhance the counseling services we provide but also help cultivate a school environment where every child feels supported, understood, and cared for.\r\nWe are incredibly grateful for your partnership in this important work.
