We have exciting news! ASE is in the process of starting a gardening project for the school. Ms. C. won a grant from the Douglas County Education Foundation for the purchase of 4 raised beds, tools, and materials to create a garden space. We are about to order all the items and get planting for a Fall/Winter harvest! One thing that we couldn't afford with the grant is a storage shed for all our gardening materials. We plan to use the garden to create many different educational experiences for our students. We plan to plant and harvest different crops. We will observe plant life-cycle. We also plan to use the garden space to observe insects in their natural habitat.
