I have been able to capture practices, drills, routes, defensive reads, and game situations from my point of view and use that footage with the team for instruction and reflection. Instead of simply telling a player what she did wrong or how she could improve, we watch the plays together and allow the team to see exactly what happened. This makes feedback more immediate, visual, and meaningful. The glasses have become another coaching tool that helps our athletes understand concepts such as spacing, route timing, communication, positioning, and decision-making in a way that traditional instruction cannot always provide.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is seeing themselves in action and being able to learn from their own experiences. They are naturally interested in the technology, but the excitement goes beyond simply wearing or using smart glasses. They want to know, \"What did I do on that play?\" and \"Can we watch that again?\" Players who are more visual learners have especially embraced the technology because they can connect what we discuss in practice to an actual play. Some of our newer or less experienced players have also responded positively because the video gives them a chance to slow the game down, understand their role, and build confidence without feeling like every mistake has to be learned through trial and error.\r\n\r\nThe students who have warmed to the technology the most are those who are eager to improve and take ownership of their performance. I have seen players become more comfortable asking questions, analyzing plays, and discussing what they could do differently the next time. It has created a culture where students are not just participating in practice—they are becoming active learners of the game. For our athletes, the Meta Glasses represent more than a piece of technology; they give students another way to see, understand, and take ownership of their learning while developing skills that extend beyond the football field.","fullyFundedDate":1777318519282,"projectUrl":"project/see-it-to-believe-it-real-time-learning/10171611/","projectTitle":"See It to Believe It: Real-Time Learning with Smart Glasses","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Larry","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7640406_orig.jpg?crop=1000,1000,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1605077620122","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7640406"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49026","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1150,"numTeachers":71,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":90,"percentWhite":1,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":6,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"16.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":69.2,"schoolId":49026,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Dougherty Comprehensive High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Dougherty Comprehensive High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/dougherty-county-school-system/dougherty-comprehensive-high-school/49026"}
