This simple routine has become an important part of their day and has helped them feel proud of what they can accomplish on their own.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has not only provided us with a useful classroom resource, but it has also given my students a meaningful opportunity to grow their independence. As they have learned to complete this task on their own, I have been able to spend more time focusing on teaching and supporting my students in other areas. Learning is much more exciting and engaging when they are up and collaborating with their peers.\r\n\r\nMy first graders enjoy the opportunity to walk around the learning experience or work in an alternative environment. Clipboards provided them a surface to work on their assignment while collaborating with peers. Students learn best when they can talk about their ideas and explain how they arrived at their answers. Most first graders do not do well sitting at a desk or table.
