The Clorox wipes were timely, as fewer student were out sick this winter, thereby eliminating missed class time resulting in higher overall class averages. \r\n\r\nI am most gracious, however, for the bean bags, floor cushions, books, and snacks. The bean bags have become an unintentional incentive as students put forth great effort to earn a bean bag seat, as opposed to a traditional desk. Students enjoy reading and writing their essays in these colorful globs and I too have conferenced with students while sitting in a bean bag. Even random students who pass by my classroom are invested in the learning that takes place in my room simply from the perceived excitement added from having bean bags. For added comfort, I added the floor cushions to my DIY reading nook in the back of my room and now kids are more excited to read in a place that offers the same comfort as their couch at home. Even though the \"House on Mango Street,\" was selected for my struggling readers, my advanced students took turns reading vignettes for a short project. And lastly, the snacks have impacted my students the most. I give student snacks for staying for tutoring and also for exemplary moments in class. Regardless of accuracy, I enjoy seeing students have the audacity to try. I am building a growth mindset in my class and the snacks definitely aid in that impact. \r\n\r\nThank you for your investment in our future leaders. You have helped increase their reading stamina and overall enjoyment of books of all genres! As we find ourselves in a national reading crisis, the support given to my classroom is far-reaching.","fullyFundedDate":1763936979891,"projectUrl":"project/keep-imagination-alive-sincerely-a-hig/9499545/","projectTitle":"Keep Imagination Alive: Sincerely, a High School Teen","teacherDisplayName":"Coach Butler","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10093103"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48129","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":2175,"numTeachers":123,"percentFrplEligible":73,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":66,"percentWhite":5,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":22,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"17.7:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.8,"schoolId":48129,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about McEachern High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"McEachern High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/cobb-county-school-district/mceachern-high-school/48129"}
