Thanks to your donation, my 4th graders have been exploring the world of STEM through podcasts, and they are absolutely loving it! We've been listening to stories from real scientists, mathematicians, and engineers, and it's opening their eyes to all the exciting things they can do in the future. The technology has made it so easy to bring these voices right into our classroom, and it's helping students connect what we're learning in math and science to the real world.\r\n\r\nWhat gets the kids most excited is hearing how these STEM leaders got started, especially when they find out they were curious kids just like them! Some of my quieter students have really come out of their shells during our podcast discussions. One student who used to say math was \"too hard\" recently told me, \"I want to be a scientist who helps the planet!\" These moments remind me of the power of this project. You're helping my students dream big, learn deeply, and believe in themselves, and we're so grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1746785875928,"projectUrl":"project/using-podcasts-to-inspire-future-mathema/9058014/","projectTitle":"Using Podcasts to Inspire Future Mathematicians, Scientists, and STEM Leaders","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tucker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9451397"},{"teacherId":9277676,"projectId":9310579,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generours support in providing easels for our classroom! Several students immediately asked if they could \"be the teacher\" and use the easels to model blending words for the class. That sense of ownership has made our phonics routines more engaging and collaborative. \r\n\r\nAs we continue working through our current phonics units, the easels will support activities like word building, sound mapping, and small-group intervention. The next step for my students is moving from blending and decoding to reading words fluently in connected text, and these easels will be part of that daily progress.\r\n\r\nYour kindness has given my students not only a resource, but also the motivation to see themselves as capable readers. Not only does this decrease the dreaded \"summer slide,\" but it gave them uninterruped time to read and prepare for the reading bowl. Among these resources are stools for small group work and dividers that create specialized stations. These items are not just additions; they are transformative tools that enhance the way we learn and collaborate. One of the most notable impacts of the dividers is the quiet space they provide for students with autism. This environment allows them to focus better on their tasks without the distractions that can sometimes occur in a busy classroom. By creating a designated area, we support their unique needs and help them thrive in their learning journey. This focus is essential for all students, as it promotes a more inclusive and supportive educational experience.\r\n Moreover, this project would not have been possible without the generosity of our donors. Their contributions have provided us with the resources to create a vibrant and engaging classroom. By investing in our writing classroom, they have given our students a glimpse into what a supportive and stimulating educational environment can look like. The impact of their support extends beyond physical items; it influences the mindset and motivation of our students. As we look ahead, we remain committed to further enhancing our learning environment, ensuring that it meets the diverse needs of all our students while preparing them for the challenges of the future.","fullyFundedDate":1746785623165,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-cozy-creative-writing-space/9222539/","projectTitle":"Creating a Cozy & Creative Writing Space for Young Authors!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Wiggins","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9061205"},{"teacherId":9277676,"projectId":9074252,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of literacy task cards! Since receiving these materials, my students have been excited and creative. We've already started a few projects that integrate these tools, and it's been incredible to see how engaged the students are in hands-on, collaborative learning.\r\n\r\nOne of our projects involves using the LEGO kits to build and program simple robots, where students apply their problem-solving skills and learn about engineering concepts. The moment they saw the kits, their faces lit up with enthusiasm. The drones have also sparked a lot of interest, and the students are working on designing their own drone. Though we're still in the process of completing these projects, the energy and innovation they've sparked in the classroom are already apparent.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we plan to integrate the podcast equipment into a media project where students will write, record, and edit their podcasts on passionate topics. This will help them with technical skills and improve their communication abilities. With the printer, students was able to design and print models of various habitats, plant structures, and animal adaptations. This hands-on experience brings the science curriculum to life, allowing students to physically interact with the concepts they are learning. In math, the ability to create three-dimensional models of geometric shapes helps students better understand volume, surface area, and the relationships between different figures. The printer transforms abstract ideas into tangible objects, making learning more engaging and accessible for all students.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting aspect for students is seeing their designs come to life, which fosters a sense of accomplishment and ownership of their learning. Students who previously struggled with abstract concepts now have a way to connect theory with practice, especially those who are more tactile learners. This technology has also encouraged collaboration among students, as they work together to design and refine their models. For some students, especially those who might not have felt as confident in traditional learning settings, this hands-on approach has sparked newfound enthusiasm for both math and science. It was amazing to watch their creativity flow as they carefully chose colors that represented specific concepts and organized their thoughts.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the colored paper, their eyes lit up with excitement!
