What started as a classroom snack closet has grown into so much more than I ever expected. My students know that our snack closet is a safe, welcoming place where they can grab a snack whenever they need a little extra boost during the school day. It has helped create a classroom environment where students feel cared for, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw all of the snacks, their excitement was contagious! They were thrilled to have so many choices and immediately wanted to help organize everything. Since then, the snack closet has become a beloved part of our classroom. What has been especially meaningful is seeing students quietly visit the closet when they need something without feeling embarrassed or singled out. It has also become a resource for children beyond my classroom, and both students and adults in our building have expressed how much this little space means to them.\r\n\r\nWe are still going strong and have been able to continue providing snacks throughout the school year. Because of your generosity, we expect to have enough supplies to keep nourishing our students until around November. That means we can continue focusing on the bigger goal: helping every child feel safe, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nRight now, our students are continuing to grow academically while also learning important social-emotional skills like recognizing their needs, caring for themselves and others, and asking for help when they need it. As we move forward, I hope to continue building a classroom community where students know that their well-being matters just as much as their schoolwork.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students more than a snack. A hungry child can have a difficult time focusing, so having snacks available helps my scholars feel comfortable, cared for, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have been especially helpful during our technology-based learning and assessments. My students use digital learning programs to practice important kindergarten skills in reading, phonics, math, and more. Having their own headphones allows them to listen carefully, stay focused, and work independently without distracting their classmates.\r\n\r\nThe LCD tablets have also opened up exciting opportunities for learning. My kindergartners are able to engage with interactive educational activities that reinforce the skills we are learning in class. With the Donors Choose, it makes it a relief to get bulks of supplies I need to will last my students and I for a good chunk of the school year. The donations provided my students folders, dry erase markers, erasers, many pencils, as well as a classroom set of hand sanitizer, paper towels, anchor chart paper, and more. It gets them more engaged in their learning because they can access materials on their level. We recently started the season and have a team of 13 girls. There are a range of skills and experience, yet each one came out eager to learn more about the game. Due to various reasons, we are limited on how often we can practice, but this year we were prepared...\r\nBecause of your donation, we were able to provide every girl with her own basketball (to keep)! We taught them how to use it to aid in their practicing when they are at home. Some of them even bring them to school and use them to practice during their recess or specials times. These basketballs are a gift that keeps on giving and they are something they will carry with them long after the season is over. \r\nAdditionally, we had the joy of unboxing water bottles before our first game. Every girl got one and many have decided to decorate them and make them their own. We use these every week during our games and practices. \r\nWe are so lucky to have a community like you supporting our elementary girls basketball team. Our classroom has consistently grown over the last two months and that is in thanks to you. \r\nBecause our project was funded so quickly, my kids were not there for the unboxing of all of our amazing items, but they know we were blessed by our community because y'all believe in them. Every time we use the different tools, the kids are so excited. We work hard to take care of everything so that future students will get to enjoy as well. \r\nWe feel so lucky to have people like you who look out for classes like ours.
