This was exciting news, but it also meant that we would need supplies now more than ever. Which is why I was blown away when I received the news that my band students' project had been fully funded. Not only will my students have the resources they need to have a fun, productive spring semester, but our newcomers will be joining us with that same reassurance. These kiddos will not have to worry if they chip a reed on the first day, or if the battery on their electronic device is going to shut down in the middle of a lesson. All they have to do is enjoy the experience of music education.\r\n\r\n The students' first day back from break was January 9th, 2025. When they walked into the room, they saw the Donors Choose packages sitting on my podium. I asked them if they had an idea of what the packages could be. None of them had a clue! I told them that some very special people wanted them to have a great semester in band, so they sent some things that would help them be successful. I opened the packages in front of them and they smiled with shock and gratitude. They are honored. They are ready to work!
