These have been used as incentives and rewards, and to motivate our students as they have competed in games to help them review for our end-of-year testing. I am thrilled to report that well-fed students can do AMAZING things! During our annual end-of-year testing, our students showed up and showed out! Our students had an 85% pass rate this year, with a 65% proficient and distinguished pass rate. That means over half of the students who took this state test passed with an A or B rating, and while we KNOW that test scores do NOT indicate what a student can do or what they know, this does indicate an amazing rate of growth they have shown this year.\r\n\r\nOur kids have been able to work, win, compete, and have something to strive towards, all because of your generous donation. Though candy and snacks may seem like a very insignificant gift, to our students, who deal with food insecurity, live in poverty, and don't trust many adults in their lives, it means a great deal. The Bible states in Matthew 25:40, \"Then those 'sheep' are going to say, 'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me.\" These are those children that you blessed, and I, for one, am grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1769192036121,"projectUrl":"project/sweet-success/10010479/","projectTitle":"Sweet Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Gilpin","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10402346"},{"teacherId":9968313,"projectId":9170344,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our project last school term. My students were extremely excited to see a slushie machine and couldn't wait to put it to use! While the original idea was to raise funds through slushie sales for the Ronald McDonald House, your generosity allowed us to meet a very unexpected and urgent need in our school community. One of our students and her family lost their home in a house fire, and we were able to use the resources from this project to provide immediate support and relief for her.\r\n\r\nThe experience was a powerful lesson for my students—not only about the importance of service and fundraising, but also about compassion, flexibility, and coming together when someone in our community is hurting. Your contribution helped turn a fundraiser into a meaningful act of kindness that touched our entire classroom.\r\n\r\nAlthough the school term ended. I plan to use the supplies gifted to my classroom to continue helping students and families within our community. A new school year has started, and we will begin slushie sales soon. I have been placed in a new department. My new students will also be able to learn the importance of service and fundraising.","fullyFundedDate":1741897007488,"projectUrl":"project/slushies-for-a-cause-supporting-familie/9170344/","projectTitle":"Slushies for a Cause: Supporting Families for Ronald McDonald House","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Moody","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-7_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9968313"},{"teacherId":10003166,"projectId":9263421,"letterContent":"We appreciate you making hydration a priority for our students.
