They have been so excited to complete the challenges I give them every week for a chance to earn bonus points. It has kept them engaged even after their assignments are complete.\r\n\r\nI have had students who are rarely motivated to work, solve these puzzles. The activities I post on the puzzle wall give me a chance to see the potential of these students. Plus, they are so proud of themselves when they figure it out!\r\n\r\n This puzzle wall has been a breath of fresh air. It has stirred up a competitive spirit in some students who need encouragement to be better. It has also been like winning a trophy for the students who complete the puzzles and win the Brownie Points if their name is drawn from the bucket! This is definitely something I will continue to use for years. The iPad has become a powerful tool for students to explore math in new ways—through interactive apps, visual models, and games that make tough concepts click. It gives students who might normally struggle a chance to learn at their own pace and feel more confident. It's also helped me check in with students more easily and give them quick feedback when they need it most.\r\n\r\nThe styluses have been a game changer too. Writing out math by hand on a Chromebook screen feels so much more natural now, especially for solving equations or sketching graphs. And sometimes, nothing beats the simplicity of whiteboards and markers—students love using them to try out problems, share ideas with classmates, and take risks without fear of messing up. Altogether, these tools have helped create a more hands-on, flexible, and fun environment where students are engaged, supported, and excited to learn math.\r\n\r\nMy students and I are so grateful for your help in funding this project for my classroom.","fullyFundedDate":1715121959477,"projectUrl":"project/mrs-ramseys-math-class-engagement-tool/8239616/","projectTitle":"Mrs. Ramsey's Math Class Engagement Tools!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Ramsey","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9477762_orig.png?crop=911,911,x9,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1714569219522","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9477762"},{"teacherId":9474571,"projectId":8808045,"letterContent":"I have received all my materials and the students are already loving them! Up until now I have only had a small box of broken crayons for them to use and now they have more colored pencils, scissorys, glue, and construction paper than they can use and they are being put to great use already. I also just finished creating a project for them where they will be building bridges out of popsicle sticks and they must use specific geometric features in their bridge. We will be starting that project next week and once they finish, we will test their bridges ability to hold weight, which they are very excited about. \r\nWhen my students came in and saw all the boxes it was almost like Christmas morning. I let them open and organize all the materials and they were so excited to be a part of this! We finally have materials to do better hands-on and more engaging lessons. The students couldn't believe that someone they don't even know would be generous enough to donate to our class.
