Having consistent access to quality reeds has removed one of the biggest obstacles to their growth. Students no longer have to struggle with cracked or worn-out reeds, which often caused frustration and held them back musically.\r\n\r\nNow, they are able to produce a clearer tone, practice longer without interruption, and focus on developing proper technique. The reliability of having multiple reeds to rotate has also helped them learn the importance of good maintenance habits. Most importantly, students feel supported and encouraged knowing they have the tools they need to succeed. This investment has not only improved the overall sound of our ensembles, but it has also created a stronger sense of pride and motivation among our young musicians.","fullyFundedDate":1522187377259,"projectUrl":"project/welcome-to-reed-ville/3114369/","projectTitle":"Welcome to Reed-Ville","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Byrdsong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2034323_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1451538370311","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msbyrdsong"},{"teacherId":9511705,"projectId":8592697,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations and contributions to our classroom project! My students live in a very low socioeconomic area. Their parents and guardians often lack the funds to provide students with the necessary resources to excel in the classroom throughout the school year. I wanted to make sure that classroom materials and supplies would never become a barrier to my students' learning within my classroom. I am a special education teacher and have noticed throughout my years of teaching that my students with disabilities often struggle with positive emotional regulation/ recognition. One of my goals this year is to provide students with more social-emotional learning resources. \r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw that our \"Back-to-School Galore\" Grant had been funded they were ecstatic! Several of my students love to draw, create comics/doodles, and design their notebooks/ belongings in their free time or when they need to calm down. I have young ladies who often ask about having markers/colored pencils/crayons in shades of colors that represent them. When they say the Colors of the Words Crayola Markers and the Crayola Crayon Classpack, they were so excited and asked could we create thank you cards. They have really enjoyed using the \"I Feel\" / \"I Can\" SEL board that gives pictures of emotions and ways to elevate positive emotions, de-escalate negative altercations, and/or calm down when upset. \r\n\r\nOur next steps will include diving deeper into self-esteem, self-image, and recognizing positive and negative emotions.","fullyFundedDate":1732715293114,"projectUrl":"project/back-to-school-adventures-galore/8592697/","projectTitle":"Back To School Adventures Galore!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ellis","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9511705_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1713110232585","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9511705"},{"teacherId":2034323,"projectId":3106902,"letterContent":"Since receiving the BoPep finger and thumb guides, I've noticed a significant improvement in my flute students' playing and confidence. Students are able to find and maintain the correct hand position much more easily, which has led to better tone, improved finger coordination, and fewer technical frustrations during class. What once slowed them down—awkward hand placement or tension—is no longer a barrier to progress.\r\n\r\nThese simple yet powerful tools have created a more supportive learning environment where beginning flutists can focus on making music instead of struggling with posture and grip. As a result, my class is moving forward faster, with students demonstrating greater independence and pride in their growth. The investment is already paying off in stronger musicianship and a smoother path for their continued success.","fullyFundedDate":1522186932049,"projectUrl":"project/whats-your-position/3106902/","projectTitle":"What's Your Position?","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Byrdsong","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2034323_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1451538370311","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/msbyrdsong"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_49354","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":241,"numTeachers":26,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":96,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":3,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"9.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":59.3,"schoolId":49354,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Price Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Price Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/georgia/atlanta-public-schools/price-middle-school/49354"}
