Because of your kindness and support, my students experienced math and critical thinking in a whole new way.\r\nMy goal was to help my students develop advanced number knowledge and the critical thinking skills they need to solve problems, not just in math, but in everyday life. Thanks to you, I now have an incredible collection of hands-on games and tools that are making that vision a reality.\r\nThe wooden abacuses gave students a concrete, tactile way to explore numbers and counting. Our chess sets and chess books taught students to think ahead, plan strategically, and learn from every move. TENZI dice games and Math Dice Junior built number fluency and quick thinking in a way that had students begging to play again and again. Monopoly Junior, The Game of Life: Super Mario Edition, Trouble, and Candy Land brought math to life through real-world decision making, counting, and friendly competition. Our learning clocks and time activity sets helped students master telling time. And Pop for Addition & Subtraction made math facts fun during both small group instruction and independent practice.\r\nWhat I loved most is watching students who once struggled with math confidence began walking into our classroom eager to play, try, and solve problems. These games not only built make skills, but they are built resilient, logical thinkers who believed they could tackle any challenge.\r\nYour support has truly made a difference. Thank you for investing in my students and in the kind of learning that will stay with them long after this school year ends.","fullyFundedDate":1668006288715,"projectUrl":"project/making-mathematicians/6568348/","projectTitle":"Making Mathematicians","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Antwi","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/antwimiles"},{"teacherId":3332495,"projectId":8174540,"letterContent":"The addition of these Kids Headphones has truly transformed our classroom learning experience. Before this project, background noise often made it difficult for students to stay focused during digital lessons or independent work. Now, each child has the opportunity to engage fully in reading programs, interactive math activities, and science videos without distractions. The classroom feels calmer and more productive, and students are more confident using technology on their own.\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the independence these headphones give them. They love being able to plug in, tune in, and take charge of their learning. During centers, I see students smiling as they listen to stories or follow along with interactive lessons all while staying focused and motivated. The headphones have also encouraged more collaboration, as students can share discoveries and compare what they've learned with classmates.\r\n\r\nA few of my quieter students have especially benefited. With the headphones, they can concentrate without feeling overwhelmed by noise, allowing them to participate more fully in class discussions afterward. It's been inspiring to see how something as simple as a pair of headphones can open doors for deeper focus, confidence, and joy in learning. Your donation is more than just a gift; it's a powerful investment in the future of students who are striving every day to overcome challenges and reach their full potential.\r\n\r\nThanks to your contribution, our scholars now have access to motivational handwriting and math workbooks that are already making a meaningful impact. These resources are helping students strengthen their fine motor skills, improve handwriting clarity, and build foundational math abilities, all essential components for academic success. But beyond the academic benefits, these workbooks are fostering something even more transformative: a growth mindset.\r\n\r\nFor many of our students, school can be a place where they feel overwhelmed or discouraged due to learning gaps or language barriers. Your donation has helped turn that narrative around. With structured, engaging, and motivational exercises, our students are beginning to take pride in their work. They're seeing progress in their writing and math skills, and that progress is fueling their confidence. Every time a student completes a page with neat handwriting or solves a math problem independently, they experience a moment of triumph and those moments are adding up\r\n\r\nThe impact of your support goes far beyond the classroom. Our students come from richly diverse backgrounds, including Haiti, Congo, Mexico, and South America. Many face socioeconomic challenges and academic deficits, yet they bring incredible resilience, determination, and unique perspectives to our school community. Your donation sends a powerful message to them: that someone believes in their potential and is willing to invest in their dreams.\r\n\r\nBy helping us create a more supportive and engaging learning environment, you are also contributing to our students' social-emotional development. The sense of accomplishment they feel when mastering a new skill builds self-esteem and resilience—qualities that will serve them well throughout their lives. These workbooks are not just tools for learning; they are tools for empowerment.\r\n\r\nWe've already seen students who were once hesitant to write now eagerly picking up their pencils. Others who struggled with basic math are now approaching problems with curiosity and confidence. These changes may seem small, but they are the building blocks of lifelong success.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our Writing Champs. Your generosity is helping them grow into confident, capable, and successful individuals. You are helping them fulfill their wildest dreams—and for that, we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1740689207201,"projectUrl":"project/mindset-matters-for-young-scholars-wri/8978980/","projectTitle":"Mindset Matters for Young Scholars: Writing Champs","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Brown","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6812037"},{"teacherId":8005628,"projectId":6519623,"letterContent":"For years my focus was on creating strong readers. The year I asked for these donations, I was determined to also create strong mathematicians.\r\nI didn't just want my students to memorize procedures. I wanted them to understand math at a deep, conceptual level. That kind of understanding doesn't come from worksheets alone, it comes from touching, building, sorting, and exploring. That's exactly what these math tool kits made possible.\r\nEach kit put powerful learning tools directly in my students' hands. These manipulatives, charts, and visual resources turned abstract concepts into something they could see, feel, and work through together. Math became interactive. Math became fun. And most importantly, math began to make sense.\r\nThese tool kits also opened the door to something equally valuable: peer and volunteer learning. Students worked alongside classmates and adult volunteers, talking through problems, sharing strategies, and teaching one another. That kind of collaborative learning builds both confidence and comprehension in ways that no single lesson can replicate.\r\nPerhaps one of the most unexpected gifts these kits brought was a lesson in responsibility. Each student was entrusted with their own toolkit. They took care of every manipulative, every poster, every component. They learned to take ownership, stay organized, and take pride in caring for something that belonged to them.\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools to explore, grow, and believe in themselves as mathematicians.","fullyFundedDate":1656303992850,"projectUrl":"project/math-math-math/6519623/","projectTitle":"Math!
