Because of your support, our students were able to take on a meaningful and creative STEAM project this year, and I'm so excited to share what they accomplished.\r\n\r\nThe project was centered around a big question: How can we use storytelling to propose solutions to transportation inequality and equity while integrating math and science concepts? It was a challenging topic, but the students rose to it.\r\n\r\nWith the computer, they researched transportation systems, gathered data about how different communities are affected by transit access, and used graphs, maps, and models to make sense of numbers. Then they got creative by writing stories, recording and editing videos, and designing presentations using technology that combined their research with real-world solutions. It was incredible to watch them use both their analytical and artistic sides to tackle such an important issue.\r\n\r\nWe're so grateful for your support. Thank you for believing in our students and helping us give them meaningful learning experiences.","fullyFundedDate":1738812650328,"projectUrl":"project/projecting-steam-to-design-create-in/9047767/","projectTitle":"Projecting STEAM to Design, Create, & Innovate","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jones","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7644141_orig.png?crop=350,350,x8,y76&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606277436009","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7644141"},{"teacherId":2303197,"projectId":8592428,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our K–5 STEAM Innovation Lab is now home to two Creality K1 3D printers—and they've already made a huge impact! Students gathered around the boxes with wide eyes, asking, \"Are these really for us?\" As we unpacked everything—new books, flexible seating cushions, and math manipulatives—the joy was palpable. Several students immediately volunteered to help organize the materials, and one even said, \"It feels like Christmas came early!\"\r\n\r\nWe have already begun using the new resources during our math and literacy blocks. The flexible seating options have transformed the way students engage in small group work. I saw a noticeable increase in confidence among students who usually shy away from participating. One student, who has struggled with number sense, was so proud to show how he used the fraction tiles to explain his answer to the class. That kind of engagement is priceless—and made possible by your generosity.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we're using these tools to prepare for our end-of-unit project, where students will create real-world math problems based on their everyday experiences.
