The very first day it arrived the students gathered random items from around the classroom to add to the tray table and explore. They loved how much space they had at the table making sharing and using materials easier.\r\nDuring our holiday theme I added gingerbread men, magnet blocks and sensory fill for students to make houses and trees. The cooperative play was amazing. The students worked together planning a village for the gingerbread men. \r\nA second tray had ice cubes, polar animals and snow added to see where they senses and exploration would go. They loved making igloos and animals tracks in the snow. It is great to see students using all their senses and talking about it with their peers. This is one of the most used centers in the classroom. \r\nI need to continue to find new materials to add to our tray for students to continue their exploration. The tonie box is so easy to use they can do it all by themselves! It makes for an easier listening and reading center. \r\nThe students are gaining independence and learning to do things on their own!
