We are not your typical classroom, we are special in many ways. We don't learn like other students do, we have short attention spans and the teacher needs to work with us individually which means we needed things to keep us busy while we wait our turns. \r\n\r\nWe were able to get indestructible books to look at and read. Why this type of book, well we sometimes get frustrated and pull on books. We also forget to do things like dry our hands or cover a sneeze. That makes books gross. But these book can be cleaned and don't rip. We also got puzzles, with magnetic balls. We can sort colors, count, and go around a town. This helps are hand eye coordination, and learning but best of all there are no pieces to loose. The magnetic pen is attached and the balls are secure behind plexiglass. We also got some new pop it toys. These are so much fun, and we can count as we pop.\r\n\r\nThank you again for helping us keep our hands busy. We can take turns with our teacher on work on a lesson and then take a break and do something fun. We are developing lost of skills like turn taking and sharing.","fullyFundedDate":1760922706349,"projectUrl":"project/keeping-hands-busy-while-we-take-turns-w/9439336/","projectTitle":"Keeping Hands Busy While We Take Turns Working","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Tucker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6603900_orig.jpg?crop=272,272,x0,y35&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1572043450338","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6603900"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_55972","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":661,"numTeachers":58,"percentFrplEligible":76,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":36,"percentWhite":9,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":49,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"11.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":76.3,"schoolId":55972,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Colonial Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Colonial Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/the-school-district-of-lee-county/colonial-elementary-school/55972"}
