The models came in just in time for the AP biology students to review. The pictures show the afterschool review activity of them taking apart and having fun learning with their cell models.\r\n\r\nI'm a firm believer that toys, models, activities are the best way to learn about something! Just as building something is a learning experience, so is taking it apart. It reminds me of how my father learned. A man who had such extreme difficulty reading that he dropped out of high school. However, he was able to go to the junkyard and take apart cars and put them back together, building his own car as a teenager. The power of being able to dissect and observe the inner workings of something is one of our greatest powers as people! And we don't use it enough. In this way, students can take advantage of that natural ability to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1769178305212,"projectUrl":"project/fun-cell-models-for-the-kids-to-learn-wi/10035675/","projectTitle":"Fun Cell Models for the Kids to Learn With!","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Orellana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10112909_orig.png?crop=400,400,x0,y44&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1767706674592","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10112909"},{"teacherId":10112909,"projectId":9967438,"letterContent":"The model kits you have provided was beyond expectations! The students love them and often will idly make molecules to ask \"what is this?\" (I will admit most I can't answer). I have taken the models made by many of them and use them as recurring examples and class decoration! These models have been used in chemical naming, chemical reactions, and how bonding works in molecules. For some, these labs have been critical in aiding in the understanding of how molecules interact with each other. For others, these models have been key in fostering a sort of creative aspect in science. This has been very helpful for those looking to gain a real understanding in chemistry!\r\n\r\nAs for me, it was nice not to have to pay for supplies out of my own pocket! I have supplied model kits before out of my own pocket because of how effective of a learning tool they are for chemistry! It takes the stress off to allow me to plan for more effective learning projects for the students. The reaction to labs that they weren't expecting, that are fun and take a different kind of approach, such as \"build sulfur hexaflouride\" is more stimulating for them. And more colorful! Allowing for many students to desire taking the initiative in their learning.","fullyFundedDate":1766271725067,"projectUrl":"project/model-kits-for-kids-because-chemistry/9967438/","projectTitle":"Model Kits for Kids! This project had a meaningful and positive impact on my students by providing tangible, hands‑on materials that promoted interactive learning in real time. Through these materials, students were able to actively participate in their learning using movement, collaboration, and meaningful practice. As beginning Spanish learners, they felt more confident, motivated, and excited to use the language every day.\r\nHaving these materials readily available in the classroom made a significant difference. I was able to capture and print photos of students engaging in interactive Spanish activities and proudly display them on our classroom bulletin board. Seeing themselves recognized as Spanish learners increased student pride and enthusiasm. Many students even asked for printed copies of their photos to keep as memories, showing how meaningful and personal these learning experiences were. The materials allowed learning to be celebrated in visible and lasting ways.\r\nThis project also gave me the opportunity to extend interactive learning beyond the classroom walls. Using the provided materials, I was able to plan academic Spanish games outside the classroom that integrated language practice with movement and teamwork. Students were learning while having fun, which lowered anxiety and encouraged participation from all learners. These experiences helped students associate Spanish with positive emotions, connection, and success. Thank you for helping create an engaging, inclusive, and memorable learning environment for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1769442810843,"projectUrl":"project/giving-students-a-voice-with-interactive/10058505/","projectTitle":"Giving Students a Voice with Interactive Spanish Learning","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10240167"},{"teacherId":10240167,"projectId":9990059,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity and for supporting our Spanish 1 students through the \"El Colmadito\" project. This initiative has had a meaningful impact on my classroom by turning motivation into a culturally rich and engaging experience. For many of my students, Spanish is their first exposure to a new language, and learning can feel intimidating at the beginning. El Colmadito gave students a fun and meaningful way to see their effort rewarded while reinforcing the importance of consistency, participation, and growth.\r\nWhat excites students most about El Colmadito is that it feels authentic and connected to real life. Instead of traditional rewards, students earn classroom currency through positive behaviors such as participating in Spanish, completing assignments, and showing effort. They can then \"shop\" at El Colmadito, which mirrors a small neighborhood store common in many Spanish‑speaking cultures. This experience not only motivates students but also helps them connect language learning to culture in a tangible way.\r\nSeveral Spanish 1 students who were initially quiet or hesitant to participate have especially thrived because of this project. Knowing that their effort matters—even when they make mistakes—has helped build confidence and encourage risk‑taking, which is essential when learning a new language. El Colmadito celebrates progress instead of perfection, making students feel valued and successful. This project has strengthened our classroom community and helped students view Spanish as more than a subject—it is becoming a meaningful and rewarding part of their daily lives. Thank you for helping make this experience possible for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1768872354371,"projectUrl":"project/motivating-students-with-el-colmadito/9990059/","projectTitle":"Motivating Students with ''El Colmadito\": Learning Spanish the Fun Way","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10240167"},{"teacherId":10240167,"projectId":9679107,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generosity and support of our Spanish 1 classroom. This project has made a meaningful impact on my high school students who are beginning their journey in learning Spanish. For many of them, this is their first exposure to a second language, and having a tangible way to recognize their progress has been incredibly powerful. While this project did not involve digital technology, it demonstrated how classroom tools can be thoughtfully used to build motivation and confidence in an academic setting.\r\nThe most exciting part of this project for students is earning and proudly wearing their Spanish pins. These pins represent important milestones such as learning basic vocabulary, participating in class, or showing consistent effort while learning a new language. Students are motivated to engage more actively because they can see and celebrate their progress. The pins serve as daily reminders that learning Spanish takes effort and courage, especially at the beginner level.\r\nSeveral Spanish 1 students who were initially shy or unsure of themselves have especially responded to this project. For many, earning a pin was the first time they felt publicly recognized for their hard work in class. Because the pins reward growth and effort rather than perfection, all students feel included and encouraged. This project has helped create a positive classroom culture where students feel valued, supported, and proud of taking their first steps toward bilingualism. Thank you for helping make that possible.","fullyFundedDate":1766967408941,"projectUrl":"project/exploring-the-world-through-spanish/9679107/","projectTitle":"Exploring the World Through Spanish","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Rodriguez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10240167"},{"teacherId":10112915,"projectId":9539085,"letterContent":"Thank you for donating Sun print paper to our art class. And 3.) The excitement the kids would have for goggles that are actually comfortable. The students have mixed reactions of \"YES!\" to \"So much better.\" Not a single student has taken the contribution for granted. They are all incredibly grateful. \r\n\r\nMy administrators are grateful, as well. They were so excited that they visited my class to see the students in the goggles!
