Because of you, my students were able to explore scratch art for the very first time, and the excitement was instant. When they saw the colorful and metallic papers and realized the designs were hidden beneath the surface, their eyes lit up. As they began scratching, gasps and smiles filled the room. It truly felt like magic as vibrant colors and shiny patterns were revealed with every line.\r\nStudents used the scratch art materials to create original designs that focused on line work, pattern, and careful planning. The process encouraged patience and precision, and many students quickly learned that slowing down and being intentional led to stronger results. For several students who have limited access to art supplies outside of school, this was a rare opportunity to work with a professional‑quality material, and they took great pride in their finished pieces. Each artwork became a keepsake they were excited to take home and share.\r\nNext, students are building on this experience by applying the same thoughtful planning and fine motor skills to new projects that combine drawing, design, and mixed media. The confidence they gained from this scratch art project is carrying over into their willingness to take creative risks and try new techniques. Thank you for giving my students the chance to explore, discover, and shine you truly helped put the sparkle in their creativity.","fullyFundedDate":1767644446637,"projectUrl":"project/scratch-the-surface-putting-the-shine-i/9855853/","projectTitle":"Scratch the Surface- Putting the Shine in Creativity","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Borchardt","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10081247_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1761314439966","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10081247"},{"teacherId":10081247,"projectId":9570673,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our classroom through the Spark Creativity project. Your generosity brought a wave of excitement and artistic pride to my students that exceeded all expectations. I work with students from 4th grade to 8th and occasionally with a small group even younger. This project was a hit for students of all ages. \r\n\r\nWith the shrink plastic and supplies you helped provide, my students were able to transform their artwork into personalized keychains. These are tiny, tangible keepsakes that they were able to carry with them. The process of creating these was not only fun and engaging, but it gave my students a sense of ownership and pride in their creativity. Watching their drawings, shrink and harden into durable charms was like magic for them. Their reactions were priceless. They quickly became obsessed and couldn't wait to see their art shrink again and again.\r\n\r\nWhat surprised me the most was how this project sparked a trend throughout the school. Students began attaching their keychains to their backpack proudly showing off their creations to their friends and classmates. It became a form of artistic expression and connection. Students were trading their stories about their designs, complementing each other's work, and even inspiring those outside of my classroom to visit and ask if they could make one too. \r\n\r\nThis project didn't just enhance our curriculum, it created a ripple effect of creativity, confidence, and community. It gave students away to celebrate their individuality and share their talents with others in a visible and meaningful way. Thank you so much for making this possible! Your support has truly made a lasting impact on our classroom and beyond. Again I thank you from the bottom of my heart.
