They were immediately excited to use them, and it has been wonderful to see how something as simple as tracing an image can lead to closer observation, questions, and conversations about what they are seeing.\r\n\r\nThe light boxes have also helped make our projects more accessible for students who may not feel as confident in their drawing abilities. Instead of worrying about whether they can recreate an image accurately, they can focus on identifying important structures, adding labels and information, and demonstrating what they have learned. What started as a lab safety lesson quickly became a moment of pride and engagement, students carefully planned designs, discussed safety constraints, and talked about why protective equipment matters in real scientific work. It was incredibly meaningful to see students treating their goggles not as an obligation, but as something uniquely theirs.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, the reaction was instant excitement. There were smiles, gasps, and lots of \"Can we really use these?\" moments. Even students who are usually hesitant to participate jumped in, sharing ideas and helping classmates. The activity sparked conversations about creativity in science, attention to detail, and responsibility, reinforcing that science is not just about content—it's about mindset and care. Several students even commented that they felt more like \"real scientists\" because they were trusted to design and use professional safety gear.\r\n\r\nNext, students will continue using their customized goggles throughout upcoming labs and investigations, reinforcing consistent safety habits while conducting hands-on experiments. These goggles will be worn during chemistry reactions, physical science demonstrations, and inquiry-based labs, serving as a daily reminder of both safety and belonging in our classroom community.
