Team members used the electrical components to rewire Clyde, our robot from our 2023 season. Rewiring the robot allowed new electrical team members to learn how to connect motor systems together and practice making the electrical connections correctly.\r\nThe coding group is working with the web camera to program a vision detection system. The web cam and programing allow the robot to detect game pieces while the robot is operating autonomously. When the robot detects these pieces, it will pick them up and shoot them at a desired target. \r\nThe supplies provided allowed us to make a lot SWAG (small items to give away) for our outreach events. Team members eagerly learned how to use the laser cutter to make acrylic keychains. After making hundreds of keychains our team gave them out at an art event and even a Christmas parade to the people stopping by our booth. Our team enjoyed sharing their hard work with children, parents, and people interested in us and our program we've worked so hard to build. \r\nWith these materials I have seen students engage more in the topic of robotics and STEM by learning new things such as coding, electrical and even how to use a new machine.
