At the Sarasota Military Academy, we are attempting to provide an opportunity for students to study radio and wireless communications technologies and to earn their first amateur radio licenses. Once my students have a callsign and a license to operate on the radio, our school will provide them the technology to use on-campus, but my desire was to have equipment I could check out to them for use at home and away from the school. Your support has checked that priority off of my to-do list!\r\n\r\nAs a public charter school, we receive no support from our school district to pilot new student programs. When our academy started down this track, I was initially skeptical about my ability to gain access to the kinds of materials and resources I would need in order to offer a program that would interest my high school students. Your support, and the support of numerous other foundations and individuals, has filled me with a rekindled faith in public support for education. With any luck and with continued support from likeminded wonderful people, this program won't just be on its feet... it'll be something I can be truly proud of.","fullyFundedDate":1746648647483,"projectUrl":"project/w4sma-amateur-radio-transceiver-sets/9170160/","projectTitle":"W4SMA Amateur Radio Transceiver Sets","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Geimer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9548670_orig.jpg?crop=853,853,x0,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715791840446","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9548670"},{"teacherId":9548670,"projectId":8595912,"letterContent":"My sincere thanks on behalf of my current and future students for your generous support. Your contributions have helped to facilitate our electronics and breadboarding lab in our new Amateur Radio and Electronics science elective course.\r\n\r\nThe multimeters and oscilloscope, in particular, have provided us the opportunity to both measure components, voltage, and current, and to visualize the more complex waveforms that many of my students were able to produce with the circuits they constructed. Many of my students produced oscillators, sirens, clickers, and other circuits capable of generating analog outputs that our shiny new oscilloscope was able to capture and analyze with greater detail and precision that would have been possible otherwise.\r\n\r\nI firmly believe that donors can help bridge the funding gaps that may exist when creating and piloting a new program; in our case, that's certainly helped to make the difference!","fullyFundedDate":1729907238431,"projectUrl":"project/sma-amateur-radio-measurement-lab-equipm/8595912/","projectTitle":"SMA Amateur Radio Measurement Lab Equipment","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Geimer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9548670_orig.jpg?crop=853,853,x0,y96&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1715791840446","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9548670"},{"teacherId":3580366,"projectId":8636088,"letterContent":"I can't thank you enough for your incredible support of our Positive Behavior/Reward School Store project. Thanks to your generosity, our school store has seen a remarkable transformation, and I'm thrilled to share how these resources have been making a real difference in my students' motivation, behavior, and overall success.\r\nWe've been using the items from the store as part of our Positive Behavior Support system. The store is a reward-based initiative where students can exchange earned \"points\" for prizes. These rewards are given for demonstrating positive behaviors such as teamwork, responsibility, respect, and staying on task. It's amazing how much these small rewards can lead to big moments of growth!\r\nWhen my students first saw the new supplies in the reward store, their eyes lit up! They were so excited and could hardly believe they had the chance to choose these rewards. This reward system gave them a visual and tangible way to see how their positive choices could lead to something rewarding. \r\nMoving forward, my students are continuing to learn the value of consistent positive behaviors and goal setting. In addition to using the reward store, we're focusing on how to create personal \"behavior goals\" for the rest of the school year.\r\n\r\nYour support has made all of this possible, and it's truly been a game-changer for us. The positive behaviors we're seeing are helping build a classroom community where respect and hard work are not only expected but celebrated. I can't wait to continue watching the growth and success of these students as they strive to meet their goals, and it's all because of your thoughtful contributions.\r\n\r\nThank you for being such an important part of our school stores success!","fullyFundedDate":1732050907481,"projectUrl":"project/empowering-education-funding-for-school/8636088/","projectTitle":"Empowering Education: Funding for School Store Supplies and Student Development","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Catena","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3580366"},{"teacherId":1741866,"projectId":8348046,"letterContent":"I am very grateful for the support received from Donors Choose over the years.
