I work in a very low-income area, and many of the kids go home to an empty fridge and empty cupboards. This food helped me provide for my students who need it most. I have had students tell me that the food I provided them helped them get through the weekend. I also had some posters donated, which I really appreciate. We make a lot of posters in science class, and they are pretty expensive. I have little to no spending money of my own after paying all of my bills, so your donation made it possible for me to provide necessary items to my classes. \r\n\r\nTimes are tough for so many people, especially low-income families and teachers. Teachers are given a very small amount of funds from their schools, and typically, they have to go out of pocket to provide for their students. Going out of pocket is no longer possible for me due to the rising cost of living, so I need help getting the things that I need. \r\n\r\nThe special snacks, like the cookies, make for excellent rewards for my students who do certain tasks. I have too much for one person to do each day due to being assigned three different courses to teach this year, so I often have my students do simple tasks that I need done for rewards. I also reward my 8th graders for reading aloud in the textbook in class. Because of this, I have 8th graders bouncing down the hall each day begging to read! How cool is that?\r\n\r\nAgain, thank you for your generosity. I didn't expect to get this project funded by complete strangers.
