The integration of digital tools in our classrooms has open up a world of possibilities, and we are seeing remarkable progress in the students' literacy development.\r\n\r\nOne of the most impactful changes has been the integration of an app the school uses called Istation and the used of individualized headphones for each student. This seemingly addition has created a more focused learning environment. Now, students can immerse themselves in audiobooks and audible comprehension passages bringing stories to life in the students ears and fostering a love for reading. They can also listen intently to vocabulary lessons and practice what they learn.\r\n\r\nBeyond just listening, the devices are equipped with interactive applications that are specifically designed to build essential reading skills. This technology allows differentiated learning, catering to the unique needs of each student. The individualized nature of these tools empowers our students to take ownership of their learning journey and progress at their own speed.","fullyFundedDate":1739376313603,"projectUrl":"project/learning-with-headphones/8965906/","projectTitle":"Learning With Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9250508_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693770089723","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9250508"},{"teacherId":9250508,"projectId":8651764,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donation of essential classroom materials. These engaging and thoughtfully curated titles have ignited a passion for reading among my students. With stories that inspire imagination, build empathy, and challenge critical thinking, your contributions have made a significant impact in fostering a love for literature among young learners.\r\n\r\nSince the arrival of these books, I have witnessed a noticeable increase in student excitement and engagement with reading. Students eagerly discuss, share recommendations with their peers, and immerse themselves in independent reading time. Most importantly, these books have given students the opportunity to meet their Accelerated Reader (AR) goals. After completing a book and passing their AR level quiz, students proudly earn a \"brag tag,\" a tangible symbol of their accomplishment that they wear with pride. This incentive program has motivated reluctant readers and cultivated a sense of achievement across our classroom community.\r\n\r\nYour generosity has sparked an academic and cultural transformation in my classroom, making reading a celebrated and joyful experience. Thank you for investing in our students and for believing in the power of books to shape young minds. I am deeply grateful for your support and look forward to sharing more student success stories inspired by your kindness.","fullyFundedDate":1730917739099,"projectUrl":"project/ssyra-jr-literature/8651796/","projectTitle":"SSYRA Jr. Literature","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Morales","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9250508_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1693770089723","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9250508"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_131633","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":494,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":69,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":24,"percentWhite":32,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":131633,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about South Pointe Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"South Pointe Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/south-pointe-elementary-school/131633"}
