The students love the mural we are painting, and it has brightened up our environment. One immediate impact we have seen is the students taking more pride in their campus. This has also been reflected in how they carry themselves, and the pride they take in their work. The theme of the mural is togetherness, and our student body is truly coming together. We are not done, but still hard at work with it. This was due to state testing, but we will be done soon. My students and I were truly amazed by your support in helping us buy supplies for our bake sales. When my students first saw the materials, they were thrilled and eager to dive into baking! It was heartwarming to see their excitement turn into creativity and teamwork in the kitchen.\r\n\r\nOne of the standout projects we've worked on with these resources was our bake sales. Our goal this year was to raise funds to feed teachers during Teacher Appreciation Day and to organize a community event to provide meals for the homeless. Using the supplies, we were able to bake desserts such as cake, wacky cake, brownies, pizza, and more. These sales not only helped us achieve half our fundraising goals but also brought our class closer together as we worked on a meaningful mission.\r\n\r\nThanks to your donation, we have almost raised enough funds to carry out both initiatives. We will be providing delicious appreciation snacks for our hardworking teachers and host a memorable event to serve meals to those in need in our community.\r\n\r\nNext steps for our class include diving into a new lesson on advanced pastry techniques and exploring how to create recipes that are both budget-friendly and nutritious. My students are excited to continue learning and giving back, and your support has been a key ingredient in making this all possible.\r\n\r\nThank you again for being part of our journey and for giving my students an unforgettable opportunity to learn, grow, and make a difference.","fullyFundedDate":1733262606928,"projectUrl":"project/ra-culinary-class-baking-project/8821688/","projectTitle":"RA Culinary Class Baking Project","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Hernandez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9778470"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_48597","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":279,"numTeachers":25,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":14,"percentWhite":37,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":46,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"6 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"11.2:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":60.0,"schoolId":48597,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Roosevelt Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Roosevelt Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/roosevelt-academy/48597"}
