It has impacted engagement in my classroom. These materials have created an atmosphere of excitment to learn. My students come eager and ready to see what instruments they will get to use in music class this week. \r\nWhen I first received the new xylophones my students were thrilled and filled with joy. They reacted with those are so pretty and when can we play. I feel they have learned a new respect for the instruments in the music classroom as these are new and they want to take such good care of them. \r\nThe additonal xylophones have allowed me to teach things in a new way. I first used them with my 3rd graders to teach melodic exploration and that melodies move upward and downward and stay the same. The students practiced playing short phrases on the xylophone and playing upward and downward. We have also used them to accomplany our singing with simple chord type accompaniment.\r\nThese materials have implacted my classroom so much. My students spend more time engaged and less time waiitng for a turn to play the next available instrument. My students and I are forever grateful for these additonal resources.","fullyFundedDate":1786541759380,"projectUrl":"project/play-xylophone-with-me/10210807/","projectTitle":"Play Xylophone With Me","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Allgood","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp883960_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1520888949472","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/883960"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46972","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":600,"numTeachers":41,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":26,"percentWhite":30,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":37,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":4,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"14.6:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":67.1,"schoolId":46972,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Philip O'Brien Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Philip O'Brien Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/philip-o-brien-elementary-school/46972"}
