They could not get enough of each book. They will useful during Black History month, and they were able to put a face to a name.\r\n\r\nThey begged me throughout the year to buy more. I reminded them that generous donors had given to their interest and education. I did end up purchasing a few more because they could not put them down.\r\n\r\nOne student in particular read all of them. In fact, it was the catalyst for him to read over 100 books from January through May. He started as a struggling reader and finished this year with a true hunger for all books and ended up being academically proficient in 4th grade!\r\n\r\nWe are so grateful! They are eager to read every Sunshine State book this year. I requested four books from the list and additionally requested some of their favorite book series. \r\n\r\nWe currently are learning about fictional text in Reading class. They have been able to analyze the characters in the books and take elements of the benchmark and identify how they contribute to the plot of the story.
