Students use the notebooks, pencils, crayons, and copy paper every day for classwork, creative projects, and interactive notes. Interactive notes have been especially helpful because they allow students to actively engage with lessons by writing key ideas, coloring diagrams, cutting and pasting activities, and organizing information in a hands-on way. Many of them immediately wanted to organize their notebooks, sharpen their pencils, and use the crayons for their interactive notes and activities. They were eager to participate in lessons and felt proud to have new supplies they could use every day. The materials created a positive and motivating classroom environment, and the students showed appreciation through their enthusiasm, smiles, and excitement to learn.\r\n\r\nThe next steps for students are to continue completing their interactive notes and using them as a study tool to review important concepts and skills learned in class. Through consistent practice, organization, and active participation, students will strengthen their understanding of the lessons and build confidence in their learning. These resources will also support students in showing learning gains through classroom activities, quizzes, and assessments as they apply what they have learned in meaningful ways.","fullyFundedDate":1776134273965,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-minds-building-science-concept/10172774/","projectTitle":"Hands-on Minds: Building Science Concepts One Notebook at a Time","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. GAVIOLA","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-1_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9835261"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_69761","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":506,"numTeachers":32,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":31,"percentWhite":7,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":57,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":1,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"15.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":27.3,"schoolId":69761,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Daniel Jenkins Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Daniel Jenkins Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/polk-county-school-district/daniel-jenkins-academy/69761"}
