My students were so excited to see all of our new materials, and we have already put them to good use. The Elkonin box whiteboards and phonics manipulatives have quickly become an important part of our daily literacy routine. We use them to stretch out words, identify and manipulate sounds, and connect those sounds to letters as we build the foundational skills that will help my students learn to read.\r\n\r\nThe primary journals have also given each child a special place to begin telling their own stories, while the desktop nameplates provide helpful references that allow my students to work more independently. Even the new headsets are helping students focus as they work on individualized learning activities on their computers. It is wonderful to watch them become more confident and independent with each passing day.\r\n\r\nWe are just beginning our first-grade journey, and there is so much growth ahead of us! We will continue using these materials throughout the year as we move from hearing and manipulating sounds, to reading and spelling words, and eventually to reading and writing increasingly complex sentences and stories. Thank you for investing in my students and giving them resources that will be used again and again.
