Share a specific classroom project or moment.**\r\n\r\nMy students are using the new resources during our SEL and school climate activities to help them build stronger communication, coping, and decision-making skills. One moment that really stood out to me was watching students use the materials during a discussion about making positive choices and handling difficult emotions. Instead of simply talking about what they *should* do, they were able to practice different strategies and connect them to situations they experience at school. Seeing students open up, participate, and encourage one another reminded me how important it is to give them tools they can actually use.\r\n\r\n**How did your students react when they first saw the materials?**\r\n\r\nThey were genuinely excited and curious! The materials made the activities feel more engaging and gave students something hands-on to interact with. Some students immediately wanted to explore everything, while others were quieter at first but became more involved as we started using the resources. I especially loved seeing students realize that the materials were something created with *them* in mind. It helped make the space feel more welcoming and gave them another way to express themselves.\r\n\r\n**What are the next steps for your students on a current classroom lesson or project?**\r\n\r\nOur next step is continuing to build on the skills we have started practicing by applying them to real-life situations. We will continue working on emotional regulation, positive decision-making, communication, and taking responsibility for our choices. I want students to leave these lessons with strategies they can use not only in my space, but also in their classrooms, with their peers, and at home. Ultimately, the goal is for students to recognize that they have the ability to pause, make a different choice, and advocate for themselves when things become difficult.","fullyFundedDate":1789565754028,"projectUrl":"project/helping-every-eagle-soar-social-emotion/10306797/","projectTitle":"Helping Every Eagle Soar: Social-Emotional Learning & Behavioral Health Support","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kuris","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10265018_orig.png?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1780531693590","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-kuris"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46818","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":587,"numTeachers":49,"percentFrplEligible":61,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":76,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":16,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"6 - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"12.0:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_SMALL"},"inStateSupporters":72.7,"schoolId":46818,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Carver Community Middle School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Carver Community Middle School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/palm-beach-county-public-schools/carver-community-middle-school/46818"}
