My students are using the fraction and decimal rulers and magnetic base ten blocks to explore math in hands-on, meaningful ways. One of our favorite moments was during a measurement activity, when students compared lengths using the fraction rulers and discovered how fractions and decimals connect. The lightbulb moments were amazing—students could see the relationships they had only read about before!\r\n\r\nWhen my students first saw the new tools, their eyes lit up. Many of them immediately started experimenting, lining up rulers and building decimal models on the board. They kept saying things like, \"Now I get it!\" and \"This makes so much sense!\" These materials have truly turned abstract math concepts into something they can touch, build, and understand.\r\n\r\nNext, we'll be diving deeper into decimal place value and measurement conversions, using these same manipulatives to solve real-world problems. These resources have inspired my students to be more confident, curious, and creative mathematicians. As we begin a new school year, it has already made a meaningful impact on our students and staff as we adjust and settle into new routines. The students were extremely excited for the various kinds of calm strips whether textured, guided breathing or mindfulness instructions.\r\n\r\nSo far I have been able to share these resources with 10 individuals and the outcome has been inspiring. One student was able to use the mindful breathing pup that visually helps guide through breathing exercise by having the student inhale as it brightens and then slowly exhale as the light dims out. The student expressed how it help calm their fears and ease their anxiety of a new classroom and teacher. The student has not needed to return after practicing this technique several times. \r\n\r\nEach staff member or student who received a calm strip expressed how it was able to help them to \"ground\" and relieve any stress or anxiety they may have been feeling. \r\n\r\nOn behalf of our students and staff, thank you for investing in healthy minds and brighter futures.
