I am truly grateful for the small magnetic whiteboards and blending boards. My students will use these resources during whole group phonics lessons and small group at their center. \r\n\r\nThese resources are needed for students to use during class as they participate in the phonics lesson. The boards are small enough to pull out easily and use for our phonics lessons to write the sound, and hold it up to show what they have written. The blending boards are also a great resource that will be used at teacher table for students use manipulatives to sound out and blend words. \r\n\r\nThank you again for supporting this project! Through family engagement nights I will continue to share these activities and begin getting the practice out to the students at home. I am able to conduct my small groups with the resources that are needed to so all students feel successful. We have begun purposeful highlighting and note-taking with sticky notes and blank paper strategies. \r\n\r\nStudents love coming to small group because the resources are fun and colorful. The rainbow colored writing pencils and the various colors of highlighters. Students understand that these are tools to accomplish our task for the day, but enjoy having the opportunity to use different color writing pencils to take their notes, or annotate in the text. Just providing a change in resources has made a huge impact on students participation and engagement in small group.
