I am a fourth grade teacher that teaches in a Title I school. The students who attend our school really want to learn. They come to us from challenging and unique situations. Some of the students may live with grandparents, some come from single parent households, and others have both parents in the home. The percentage of our students who receive free or reduced lunch is 100%. Many of the families that our students come from struggle financially. The students come to school unequipped with the basic supplies. This makes it hard to do special projects that require additional material. It also makes it difficult to increase achievement with the lack of supplies at school. At our school we want the best for our students, and believe in every child's education. We have a motto at our school every child, every chance, everyday. I want to give my students what they need to be prepared in the world.
