The headphones with built-in microphones and our new classroom printer have transformed how these vibrant learners engage with their education—and with each other.\r\n\r\nThe headphones have made a noticeable difference in helping students manage sensory input. For many of my students, the classroom can feel overwhelming. With the headphones, they're able to create a focused audio environment that helps them tune in to lessons and tune out distractions. The built-in microphones have opened up new possibilities for communication. Verbal expression can be challenging for some students, but with speech-to-text tools and voice recordings, they now have a way to share their thoughts at their own pace. One student who used to shy away from speaking now records daily reflections and participates in class discussions with growing confidence. Another has begun narrating her artwork, combining visual and verbal storytelling in a way that feels safe and joyful.\r\n\r\nThe classroom printer has become a celebration station. Students beam with pride when they see their digital creations come to life on paper. Whether it's a poem typed with support, a colorful chart designed during science, or a story crafted through voice-to-text, printing their work gives them a tangible sense of ownership. One student, who previously avoided writing tasks, now eagerly prints his work and shares it with peers and staff. His confidence has grown, and he's beginning to see himself as a capable communicator. Another student printed a chart she created about her favorite animals and taped it to her desk—her way of saying, \"This is mine, and I'm proud of it.\"\r\n\r\nWhat excites my students most is the independence these tools provide. They're able to take initiative, make choices, and showcase their strengths. The headphones and microphones give them control over how they communicate, while the printer allows them to celebrate their work in a concrete, visible way. These small shifts have led to big changes in self-esteem, classroom participation, and peer connection.\r\n\r\nThis project has done more than enhance learning—it's helped my students feel seen, heard, and valued. You've given them tools that honor their voices and support their growth. You've helped create a classroom where neurodiverse learners can thrive, not just academically, but emotionally and socially. Your generosity has made a lasting impact, and I'm deeply grateful.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in my students and in the power of inclusive education. You've helped us build a classroom where brave minds can speak up, print out their ideas, and share who they are with the world.","fullyFundedDate":1758972462364,"projectUrl":"project/tech-tools-brave-minds/9531053/","projectTitle":"Tech Tools, Brave Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Judy Tanio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9434938_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754079691905","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-tanio"},{"teacherId":9434938,"projectId":9528258,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has transformed into a vibrant, hands-on learning sanctuary where every student feels seen, supported, and inspired. The moment our new materials arrived, manipulatives, board games, sensory tools, my students lit up with joy and curiosity. One child immediately gravitated toward the magnetic blocks, building intricate designs and narrating stories as he worked. Another found calm with a sensory toy, using it to self-regulate during transitions. These tools aren't just supplies, they're bridges to connection, creativity, and emotional growth.\r\n\r\nWe've already launched a collaborative storytelling project using the new board games and manipulatives. Students pair up to build scenes and characters, then take turns narrating their adventures especially as they create different objects with the use of Play Dohs and kinetic sands, practicing communication, empathy, and imagination. The games have sparked spontaneous friendships and laughter, especially during our Friday \"Choice Time,\" where students select tools that help them express themselves. Next, we're diving into a social-emotional learning unit focused on identifying emotions and building peer connections. With your help, our classroom is not only more inclusive—it's more joyful, more expressive, and more alive.","fullyFundedDate":1755652047600,"projectUrl":"project/hands-on-learning-for-hearts-and-minds/9528258/","projectTitle":"Hands-On Learning for Hearts and Minds!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Judy Tanio","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9434938_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1754079691905","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-tanio"},{"teacherId":9451708,"projectId":9088818,"letterContent":"On behalf of our entire school community, we extend our heartfelt thanks for your generous support of our Sensory Room project.
