Several students grabbed one right away and spread out across the room...on the floor, on the couch, and in small collaborative groups. They were eager to try working in new areas. One student said, \"This is way better than carrying a clipboard around,\" while another shared, \"I like that I can sit where I'm comfortable and still get my work done.\"\r\n\r\nWe are now using the lap desks daily during hands-on STEAM activities, engineering design challenges, and independent work time. Whether students are sketching designs, recording data, reflecting in notebooks, or collaborating on group projects, the lap desks give them a stable, comfortable surface no matter where they are seated. \r\n\r\nThe biggest change I've noticed is increased focus and engagement. Students are more settled, more willing to collaborate, and more invested in their work because the classroom feels like it was designed for them. One student summed it up perfectly by saying, \"It feels like we get to choose how we learn.\"\r\n\r\nStudents will continue using these desks as we move into upcoming STEAM units that involve building, testing, and revising designs. Having portable workspaces allows learning to happen anywhere in the room...and thanks to you, every student has the tools they need.
