The new books have expanded our classroom library, giving students access to a wider variety of stories and informational texts that spark curiosity and support growing reading skills. Having more high-interest options has encouraged reluctant readers to engage more consistently and has helped all students develop stronger independent reading habits.\r\n\r\nThe addition of new recess activities has positively influenced our students' social and emotional development. With fresh equipment and games to choose from, students are more active, cooperative, and engaged during recess. These activities promote teamwork, problem-solving, and healthy movement, contributing to a more positive and energetic school day.\r\n\r\nThe snacks donated by donors have also had a noticeable impact. They provide students with a boost of energy and help them stay focused during lessons, especially on busy days or during longer instructional blocks. Having access to snacks also supports students who may not always have them, creating a more equitable and supportive classroom environment.\r\n\r\nOverall, the donations have enriched our learning community by supporting academic growth, promoting healthy play, and helping students feel cared for and valued.","fullyFundedDate":1757534667138,"projectUrl":"project/supplies-for-success/9388031/","projectTitle":"Supplies for Success","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Twietmeyer","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9818383_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1730828797721","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/twietmeyer"},{"teacherId":10076834,"projectId":9458482,"letterContent":"When our new classroom carpet, pencil sharpener, and individual headphones arrived, my students were so excited. The carpet instantly became our favorite gathering spot — a place where we read together, share ideas, and build our classroom community. Having a clean, comfortable space to sit has made our morning meetings calmer and more focused, and it's amazing to see students choosing the carpet during independent reading because it feels welcoming and special.\r\n\r\nThe pencil sharpener has already become a classroom hero! My students love being able to quickly sharpen their pencils without disrupting learning time. It's a small thing, but it has truly improved the flow of our lessons.\r\n\r\nThe individual headphones have made the biggest impact during centers. Students are now able to work on reading programs, listen to instructional videos, and complete phonics activities without distraction. One moment that stood out was watching a reluctant reader become fully engaged during a reading lesson because he could hear every word clearly. The headphones gave him the confidence to participate in a way he hadn't before.\r\n\r\nThanks to your generosity, our classroom feels more organized, more peaceful, and better equipped for real learning. These resources will continue to support our students every single day. As we move into our next unit, students will be using the headphones for research projects, the carpet for group discussions, and their sharpened pencils to write stories they're proud of.\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students the tools they need to learn, grow, and feel at home in their classroom","fullyFundedDate":1757534731747,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-carpet-pencil-sharpener-and/9458482/","projectTitle":"Classroom Carpet, Pencil Sharpener, and Individual Headphones","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Meeks","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10076834"},{"teacherId":5374498,"projectId":9453830,"letterContent":"Our class was so excited to receive the new headphones you provided! On the surface, bins and shelves might seem like simple things—but here in our library, they've made all the difference.\r\n\r\nWhen students walk through the doors of the media center, the first thing they notice now are the bright, inviting displays of books in the bins. Covers are facing out, colors are popping, and suddenly the books seem to be calling out, \"Pick me up! Take me home!\" It's amazing to watch. Kids who used to wander by the shelves without grabbing anything now stop, flip through a book, and head to the checkout desk with a smile on their face. Those bins have turned books into treasures waiting to be discovered.\r\n\r\nThe bookshelf have added so much, too. They've given our library a fresh, organized look that makes it easier for students to find what they need. But even more than that, the shelf give our space a sense of pride. It feels less like a room full of books and more like a place you *want* to be—a place that's alive, welcoming, and full of possibility. The kids notice it. The teachers notice it. And every day, I notice it when I see the spark in a child's eyes after finding \"the perfect book.\"\r\n\r\nTo give you a picture: just last week, a student who rarely checks out books spotted a graphic novel propped up in one of the bins. He grabbed it right away and told me, \"I didn't know we had this!\" That moment—when a student connects with a book that excites them—is exactly what these bins and shelves make possible. It may look like furniture, but to our kids, it's an invitation to fall in love with reading.\r\n\r\nCirculation has already gone up since these changes, and that's because of you. Every bin you helped us add is a chance for a child to discover a new favorite story. Every shelf you provided is a home for books that will become windows, mirrors, and doors for our students—windows into new worlds, mirrors where they see themselves, and doors into opportunities they never imagined.\r\n\r\nYour gift does more than organize books. It tells our students: \"You matter. Your learning matters. We believe in you.\" That message is powerful. For some of our kids, the library is their safe place, the one spot where they feel seen and supported. Thanks to your generosity, that space is now brighter, more engaging, and even more welcoming.\r\n\r\nFrom the bottom of my heart, thank you for caring about our kids, our library, and our community. The magnetic tiles, Legos, and robot give students a chance to be creative, collaborate, and problem-solve while having fun. One memorable moment was watching a group of students work together to build a tall tower with the magnetic tiles, cheering each other on every time it stood taller without falling.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials were first introduced, the students were filled with excitement and joy. Their faces lit up as soon as they saw the new resources, and they couldn't wait to explore and play. Many immediately began planning what they wanted to build and were already asking when they would get to use them again. The enthusiasm in the room was contagious, and it was clear how much these resources meant to them.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, I am excited to incorporate the Legos into an upcoming math lesson on fractions. Students will be able to use the pieces as hands-on tools to represent parts of a whole, compare fractions, and solve problems in an engaging way. This will not only deepen their understanding of fractions but also connect learning to something they already enjoy. These resources are helping me bring more creativity and excitement into our classroom lessons.","fullyFundedDate":1748206123096,"projectUrl":"project/stem-through-indoor-recess/9372264/","projectTitle":"STEM through Indoor Recess","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lopez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp3357323_orig.jpg?crop=1080,1080,x0,y3&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1598996955804","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/3357323"},{"teacherId":9625568,"projectId":9158827,"letterContent":"Thank you for your contribution to my now growing classroom library. Your contributions have made a significant difference in our classroom, and I'd love to share how the new resources are enhancing my students' learning experience and future science units.\r\n\r\nThe thermometers, mineral scratch plates, and force and motion balls have become integral tools in our science lessons. For example, for a future project focused on physical science, students used the thermometers to explore temperature changes in different materials and how temperature affects their properties. This will help students see in real-time temperature changes and make connections to the real world, like how weather affects daily life.\r\n\r\nThe mineral scratch plates were a hit during our geology unit. Students worked in small groups to identify minerals based on their hardness by scratching them against different surfaces. This hands-on activity sparked a lot of excitement as they eagerly tested various rocks, comparing their findings and learning about the Mohs scale of hardness.\r\n\r\nAs for the force and motion balls, we plan on used to investigate basic principles of physics, like speed, acceleration, and force. \r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were amazed by the new, hands-on tools.
