As they learn how computers operate and how algorithms can be used to solve real-world problems, I see them growing more logical and systematic in their approach to challenges. Coding is not just about writing lines of code—it's about fostering digital literacy and preparing my students for a future shaped by technology, where diverse career opportunities await in an ever-evolving job market.\r\n\r\n\r\nWith micro:bits, my students are able to design games, animations, and applications, turning their ideas into tangible digital creations. This hands-on experience cultivates essential soft skills like teamwork, resilience, and adaptability. It also deepens their understanding of technology, empowering them to shift from passive consumers to active creators. The process of debugging and refining code teaches them to learn from mistakes, persist through setbacks, and pay careful attention to detail—skills that are invaluable in any field.\r\n\r\n\r\nWhat excites me most is how coding with micro:bit robots brings learning to life. My students aren't just watching code run on a screen; they're seeing their programs move across the floor, interact with their environment, and respond to their commands. The enthusiasm in my classroom is palpable—after just one session, they didn't want to stop. Even those who previously found coding on computers difficult or tedious are now eager to participate. This approach bridges the gap between abstract concepts and real-world application, making the \"why\" of learning immediately relevant and engaging.\r\n\r\n\r\nBy integrating coding and robotics, I am truly transforming my classroom into a 21st-century learning environment. My students are not only acquiring technical skills, but also developing the mindset and confidence to become creators and innovators in a digital world.","fullyFundedDate":1760015089958,"projectUrl":"project/enhancing-student-learning-through-indiv/9734864/","projectTitle":"Enhancing Student Learning Through Individual Exploration","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Banas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1069246_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1537289929462","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1069246"},{"teacherId":1069246,"projectId":9520831,"letterContent":"At heartful THANK-YOU for assistingme in transforming my classroom to a place of learning\r\n\r\nTeaching coding in my school allows for the development of critical thinking, problem-solving, and creativity. It just does not move on the screen, it moves across the floor. They just love it. We have done it just once and they do not want to stop. This is how they want to learn. Ia m really transforming my classroom into a 21st Century classroom.\r\n\r\nA SHOUT OUT to Ripple who generously matched many of my donations. I am not sure I can say enough how much my students are more willing to learn the complex code to run the robots than just on the computer. It has so much meaning. They are sitting together, collaborating more to achieve the ability to make their robot do what they want it to do. That is beyond learning – it is exploring. Without these materials, my classroom would just be one of sitting at desks, with a laptop learning from pedagogical lesson instead of :having fun\" learning.","fullyFundedDate":1757516243285,"projectUrl":"project/machine-learning-with-microbits-ai/9520831/","projectTitle":"Machine Learning with Micro:Bits AI","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Banas","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp1069246_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1537289929462","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1069246"},{"teacherId":9525437,"projectId":9199037,"letterContent":"Thanks to your generosity, our classroom has been transformed! The new resources have allowed my students to dive deeper into their art lessons with confidence and excitement. They were so proud to see how their individual pieces came together into one big mural that now hangs in our classroom.\r\n\r\nWhen my students first opened the boxes of materials, their faces lit up with curiosity and joy—several of them immediately asked, \"Can we start today?\" That eagerness to learn and create is exactly what your support has made possible.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we are beginning a unit on creative expression through portraiture. With the resources you helped provide, students will explore proportion, shading, and color blending in ways that were previously out of reach.
