They earn tickets for completing their weekly technology requirements, homework, participation and good behavior. I organized all the donations and let me tell you that when I rolled out the cart with all the rewards and snacks funded through this project, my students were screaming with joy! I even added a toy cash register in order to \"scan\" items. The availability of having this store with items students actually want to buy, has definitely encouraged responsibility and pride in their work.\r\n\r\nMy students were just in complete disbelief that strangers contributed to the project. Many students come to school hungry, and this act of kindness ensures that when needed every child in my class can learn without the distractions caused by hunger. \r\n\r\nAdditionally, these snacks have become a powerful tool for motivation and positive reinforcement. Most importantly, the snack donations have fostered a stronger sense of care and community within our classroom. Students recognize that others believe in their success and well-being. I've noticed how some of my ELL students who are still in the silent stage, open up more and share ideas in small groups when they are in this more informal seating arrangement. \r\n\r\nMy gifted learners use the chairs during project-based learning and novel studies to brainstorm, research, and discussions. They love how much space seating in the floor provides when they are using multiple resources and materials for their projects. Some have even used the flat option, converting their floor chair into a mat that allows them to lay flat while sketching or mapping responses on poster size graphic organizers. I love how the chairs give them the space to spread out allowing their ideas to flow. \r\n\r\n\r\nTo us, these chairs aren't just furniture.
