While construction of the complete learning space is still underway, students have already had opportunities to participate, explore, and begin learning through activities connected to the project.\r\n\r\nThe donated materials are playing an important role in bringing this innovative space to life. Once completed, the garden and aquaponics system will become a living classroom where students can take learning beyond the traditional classroom and experience science, agriculture, sustainability, nutrition, environmental stewardship, and STEM concepts firsthand.\r\n\r\nWhat is especially exciting is that the impact has already begun. The items provided through DonorsChoose are helping us build a resource that will benefit students not just today, but for years to come.\r\n\r\nWe are incredibly grateful to our DonorsChoose supporters for believing in this vision and helping us create an educational environment where students can grow, learn, experiment, and see firsthand how their classroom lessons connect to the world around them.","fullyFundedDate":1780083717315,"projectUrl":"project/outdoor-learning-garden-aquaponics-lab/10235999/","projectTitle":"Outdoor Learning Garden & Aquaponics Lab","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Brinker","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp7771120_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1788352131885","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7771120"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_46279","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":538,"numTeachers":40,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":7,"percentWhite":55,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":30,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":6,"gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"13.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":92.0,"schoolId":46279,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Westside Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Westside Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/hernando-county-school-district/westside-elementary-school/46279"}
