There was an immediate eagerness to explore the items, and the materials instantly sparked a sense of wonder in the office. Students who frequently experience sensory overload or difficulty with transitions were particularly drawn to the weighted stuffed animal, demonstrating a visible sense of comfort and security upon handling it.\r\n\r\nThese resources have since been integrated into the office's dedicated regulation space, transforming how students manage stress and high-emotion situations. For example, during a recent challenging academic assessment, a student who became visibly overwhelmed was able to independently utilize the tools. By spending a few minutes pacing their inhales and exhales with the breathing tool while interacting with the sensory sand, the student successfully regulated their nervous system, reset their focus, and returned to the task at hand with a calm mindset. This project has not only provided immediate office support but is also helping students develop long-term self-regulation skills.","fullyFundedDate":1771957870348,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-starter/10114433/","projectTitle":"Sensory starter","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenny","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10256417_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1757851830320","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10256417"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_129267","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":280,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":64,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":34,"percentWhite":45,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":10,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":8,"gradesServed":"K - 12","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":50.0,"schoolId":129267,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Achieve Academy of Escambia on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Achieve Academy of Escambia","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/florida/escambia-county-school-district/achieve-academy-of-escambia/129267"}
